Mai in the nature :)

Hi! It’s been a while now, I’ve been very busy with my PhD thesis, but I’m almost done!! I wanted to take a short break, so I went with my hubby and Mai-chan to a national park and an old monastery founded in 1194 called Monasterio de Piedra. It’s a beautiful place! and very relaxing, that is what I was looking for^^. I couldn’t take many photos of Mai, because it rained like 3 times in one afternoon, and I had to rush to get Mai in the bag every time, so after the second heavy rain, I didn’t want to take her out again >_<. I’ll leave you with Mai, and some nice pictures of the park and the Monastery :)

The name of Monasterio de Piedra, comes from the river Piedra that flows by the monastery and through the park. There are a lot of amazing waterfalls!

The biggest waterfall behind Mai, focused picture follows:)

Here it started to rain…so we took shelter in a cave ^^ haha, was a good experience.

This is the view from the top of the huge waterfall in the previous picture, it goes all straight , so I couldn’t lean more to take the picture :p kowai!!

The next pictures were taken with the phone. There was an amazing cave with a waterfall, it was hard to capture all the beauty, because the light made t difficult, but the colors inside the cave were gorgeous! I took a video too as it was impossible to get a good picture of all the scenery xD

This is the waterfall, but somewhere in the middle, we are not down in the cave yet.

The deepest part of the cave, water was falling from the roof!

Facing the waterfall, it was too bright!

Picture from outside the cave, the same waterfall as in the previous pictures

Video of the cave :)

Monasterio de Piedra – cave

This was written at the entrance of one of the caves, Rough translation: “It’s not the hammer that makes the pebbles so perfect, its the water with its dances and songs.”

This is the oldest part of the monastery, the church and the cloister. The other part was restored into a hotel.

The monastery was abandoned for 5 years in the middle 1800’s, enough time for locals to come and steal everything that had a minimum value, even the tiles, which made fall the roof at some point.

If anyone reading this has ever played World of Warcraft, this part really looked like Scarlet Monastery xD….

And here we are, hubby, me and Owly-chan ^^ He was really amazing at this distance, the eyes are beautiful!, but he bit me when I went to touch his chest >_< jsut a bit though, hahaha.

Some extras of the nom noms we had:

I made sandwiches for our first lunch :3

And the day after we ate some awesome tapas!

thanks for looking!!!
